OUTRIGHT CAMPAIGN FOR CLEANER AIR
The Rosary OutRight group has focused on air pollution and protecting children’s right to health and a safe, clean environment. The UNICEF Steering Group here at school is empowering children and young people to stand up matters that directly impact upon themselves and their community.
The steering group has previously organised a Cleaner Air assembly, designed posters and leaflets, and looked at articles within the UNCRC that relate to air pollution and the campaign.
BBC Online News visited our school as they had heard about our campaign. Two members of the steering group were interviewed for a documentary about air pollution along with a child in Year 1 and her parents.
Two other steering group members wrote letters to MPs Michael Gove and Liam Byrne highlighting their concerns about air pollution and toxic air.
