Oracy-Performance Poetry

Performance Poetry is poetry that's intended to be performed in front of an audience. This takes poetry off the page and onto the stage, with a focus on using different tones, actions and improvisation to bring the work to life.

For aspiring poets, Performance Poetry Slams will be held here at the Rosary every half term. So, it’s time to get creative and craft a performance that will play among the waves, the rhythms, the rhymes and the music inherent in spoken language. Captivate your audience through this oral art form just the way it has been prominent throughout history and used to educate and entertain audiences on different topics, beliefs and ideologies.
