Welcome to Year 1
Our class saints are St. Francis of Assisi

St. Martin de Porres
Hello Year 1 and family,
We are so happy to welcome all of you back to school. Nothing makes our day brighter than to see you all in the classrooms.
We are looking forward to getting to know you and working together so that we have a very exciting and productive year. I hope that you enjoy the new challenges and approaches to learning that Year 1 has to offer!
Our aim is to ensure that the children experience a smooth transition from the Foundation Stage to Key Stage One. The Year 1 curriculum builds upon and extends the experiences that children have had in Reception. Learning through play will continue to be an important part of the school day, and the children will gradually be eased into more formal learning as the year goes on so that they remain motivated, enthused and eager learners. Please don’t hesitate to come and see us either before or after school if you have any questions or queries.
Mrs. Hussain and Mrs. Rajbhai
God of truth and justice,
We have gathered here today not only as a class but as a community to pray together and begin our journey of faith here at the Rosary. We will remember those who have laid down their life for others out of love, just as Jesus asked us to. We pray for love between the nations, that all people may together, live in freedom, justice and peace.
We make our prayer through Christ our Lord.
Amen.
