Targets - SEND
Once a pupil is identified as having a special educational need, a graduated approach to the support provided will be taken. This means that an ‘assess, plan, do, review’ approach to support will be undertaken.
As parents, your voice is fundamental to us. Therefore, you will also be involved with the review of targets for your child. At the start of the academic year, your child’s class teacher will share your child’s target plan with you – this will be at the first parent consultation meeting.
This is updated on a half termly basis, you will receive updated copies throughout the year. Teachers will welcome your feedback so remember the door is always open – please share your thoughts with the class teacher. You can also speak to Mrs Banks or Miss Khatoon if you wish to discuss your child’s targets.
Targets are shared, where appropriate, with pupils so they can see the progress they are making. Targets (years 1-6) are displayed on the pupil’s desk, teachers plan opportunities for pupils to work towards achieving these and then the pupil is notified once a target is met.
