Life at the Rosary
Check out the latest edition of Life at the Rosary! See what has been happening in school during the lockdown.
Well that is it! We are almost at the end of the school year! Here is your last set of home learning and activities for you to do this week.
This weeks bible work is all about how we learn to be a disciple of Jesus and how we choose to live our lives when we follow him and hear God's word. What can you do to show that you have heard the important message of Jesus? We are then finishing our topic with a fantastic minibeast story, Superworm by Julia Donaldson. I'm sure you will have fun joining in with the repeated phrases. Then you can practise your maths skills by counting, ordering and matching by playing the online ladybird game.
I hope you all enjoy the sunny weather this weekend and are all safe and well.
Hello again everyone. How are we all? It was great to speak to you this week and hear all about what you have been doing at home. School really is a different place without you and all of us are thinking about you and missing you lots. Well done for doing so well with all of your home learning and for trying so hard. We are very proud of you.
This week we are still looking at minibeasts, in particular the caterpillar and the butterfly cycle. Have fun reading the story and then talking about it with someone in your family. You have a maths activity which looks at estimating (having a guess) and then some picture cards will help you to do some exercise like a minibeast.
For our RE this week I would like you to learn all about two more Bible stories. Daniel and the Lions Den and David and Goliath. Both of these stories focus on having faith in God and trusting him to be there for us. We are all so lucky to be loved by God!
Speak to you soon and hopefully we will have some nice weather back soon!
Hello again children! I cannot believe that a another week has gone by already. It seems so long since we saw you and are all missing your stories from home and your happy little faces to brighten our morning and afternoon. I will be calling you again this week and look forward to hearing all about what you have been up to.
This week we are moving on to our final topic for the year. I know that you will love it! We are going to be learning all about minibeasts! You will have the opportunity to go on a bug hunt in your garden or even in the park. You can learn some new minibeast songs and practise your counting too!
In RE we continue to learn all about God's special book, the Bible. I have included two stories that we have looked at in class this year and I would like you to share them with someone in your family. Do you remember why the Creation story and Noah's Ark are important? What do you think God wants to tell us? Maybe you could say a thank you prayer for God's love and everything that he has done for us.
I look forward to speaking to you all next week! Enjoy the sunshine and keep safe everyone.
Hello children and families,
We all hope that you are all enjoying the return of the sunshine. It is supposed to get really warm this week so make sure you wear your suncream and hats! You will need to drink lots of water too.
This week we are finishing our People Who Help Us topic by learning all about people who help to look after us when we are poorly or sick. We will also be looking at the people who help sick animals too! There are some questions for you to think about and some maths activities for you to have a go at.
In RE this week I would like you to watch an episode of Bible Adventures that tells us all about God's special book, the Bible. You will have lots of fun exploring the Bible with Emily and singing along with the worship song at the end.
We all send you big smiles and virtual high 5's!
Hello children! I hope you are all doing well and trying hard at home on your home learning! It has been a lot cooler and rainy this week hasn't it? Our weather is set to improve next week so it will be nice to welcome back the sunshine.
This week we continue to learn about the Holy Spirit and how it helps us. You can think about how you help others by writing a promise to God about something you choose to do which helps other people. There is also a fun video for you to watch which walks you through the Pentecost story.
Our story focuses on Charlie the firefighter as part of our People Who Help Us topic. There are some talk cards to accompany the story which will help you to think about the story and characters. Then take a look at the pictures which tell us all about what it means to be a firefighter or a policeman and then count the vehicles as you become a trainee police officer!
We look forward to speaking to you all soon and miss your faces!
Well, the weather has certainly been different for us over the last couple of days and it has been hard to get out for our daily exercise. We have been trying to do some Cosmic Kids yoga or some Joe Wicks workouts to help keep us healthy. Let's hope that the sunshine comes back again soon.
We are still thinking about the Holy Spirit and how lucky we are to have such a special friend to help us. There are some questions for you to look at with your family and another worship song to enjoy too.
Continuing our theme of helping others, we are starting a new topic which focuses on the people who help us. I wonder if you know someone who does a job which helps us. There are some great ideas for you to have a look at and a maths activity for you to try.
Keep an eye on the school you tube chanel for another story!
We are all thinking of you and sending you smiles.
Hello children and grown ups. We all hope you have had a relaxing week and enjoyed the sunshine on your daily walks or exercise.
This week we are looking at Pentecost and the gift of the Holy Spirit. There is a fantastic video for you to watch which explains how this became the birth of the Christian church as we know it. Following that we have another worship song for you to sing along with. It is one of our favourite action songs!
We are then continuing our theme of traditional tales and have a audio book of Hansel and Gretel to share. Do you like the ending? Is there anything you would change? Talk to someone about the story and your favourite character. I wonder if you could draw me a house covered in your favourite sweets and treats? What kind of shapes could you include?
Finally, you have some maths challenges to complete. You can follow along with the interactive game or use your own dice at home if you prefer.
We hope that you are all well and still smiling! We miss you and sharing stories and songs with you.
It was lovely to speak to you this week. We are missing you and really enjoyed the chance to hear your voices! We hope you all have a fantastic week at home and that the weather is kind to us over our half term break.
It's Half term 25th May - everybody deserves a rest. Please re-check the home learning on Monday 1st June 2020.
Stay safe and well
Hi Nursery, how are we all?
I hope that you are all safe and well still. We will be making another call to you next Tuesday so make sure you are up nice and early so that we can speak to you. It is always so nice to find out what you have been up to.
There are some new activities for you to have a look at this week that focus on Jack and the Beanstalk. I have also attached the Hail Mary prayer again for you to keep practising at home. There are some questions at the end of the prayer for you to think about with someone in your house. The maths tasks are practical this week. You can have fun ordering numbers on an interactive game and then writing your numbers in all sorts of different ways.
Finally I have shared a song with you. The song 'The Blessing' was put together by over 60 churches in the UK and is just beautiful. It is a really uplifting song and I hope you enjoy it.
Have a great week everyone and we will speak to you on Tuesday morning.
The Lord bless you and keep you, make His face shine upon you and be gracious to you; the Lord turn His face toward you and give you peace. Amen.
May His favour be upon you and a thousand generations and your family and your children and their children. May His presence go before you and behind you and beside you, all around you and within you. He is with you in the morning, in the evening, in your coming and your going, in your weeping and rejoicing. He is for you.
Well, that was a quick week! I hope you are all doing well and are enjoying the beautiful sunshine. It was lovely to speak to some of you this week and hear all about your news. It sounds like you have been working ever so hard at home!
Children, we had been looking at the prayer Hail Mary in school and were doing so well at starting to remember it. Now that we are in the month of May we should be saying this prayer every day. We have added some videos that will help you to do this. Don't forget to make the sign of the cross as you begin.
We have also included some VE Day information this week for you to look at. The Woolley family are celebrating by having a picnic with our neighbours but have to stay on our drive so that we are always at least 2 metres away from anyone else. I will make sure to take some pictures of our day. I'm sure you remember our work in November and talking about how we are thankful for all of the brave men and women who looked after our country. VE Day celebrates 75 years since the end of the Second World War. Maybe you could think of a reason to be thankful and tell a grown up.
Finally, there is a fantastic story about Ramadan and a craft activity to follow. I would love to see some of pictures of the lanterns you make, or even a picture of you helping to prepare the meals ready to eat after sunset.
Take care everyone and keep smiling!
Hi Nursery. How are you all? We hope that you are enjoying some time in the sunshine and keeping up with your singing too!
I have added some activities to our page for you to have a look at next week. Little Red Riding Hood is one of our favourite stories so I hope you enjoy revisiting it again. There are lots of opportunities for you to talk to someone about the story and to even make your own musical instrument. Please do email us a picture of anything that you create/draw/make this week.
It was so lovely to speak to some of you this week and we will call again soon to say hello. Hopefully there won't be so many sleepy heads next time and we can speak to more of you. We really enjoyed hearing about what you have been up to!
Take care everyone, we are missing you lots!
We hope that you have had a happy and healthy Easter break and that you are all safe and well. Hopefully you all had chance to enjoy the sunshine on your daily walk or bike ride.
There are a few activities for you to do this week. Your first task is to look at the slides which explain why we use the word 'Allelluia' to celebrate the resurrection of Jesus. Once you have done this you can have fun learning the actions to a song of praise.
Next we would like you to think about the work we have been doing on 2D shape. There are some reminder pictures to help you and some great videos on You Tube too if you get stuck. See if you can ask a grown up to help you with the challenge activity.
Don't forget we would love to hear from you on the class email. You can send us pictures of the work you have been doing or something you would usually share with us during our circle time.
Take care and we hope to see you all soon
Easter Holidays Monday 6th April - Friday 17th April
Today would have been our last day of term and the beginning of our two week holiday. Please enjoy a well earned rest and spending time with your family over the next two weeks. We have left you a few optional activities on the class page but we will not be setting any formal learning tasks or replying to emails until Monday 20th April.
It has been fantastic to hear from you on the class email and we have loved seeing some of your pictures and videos so far. Please do keep them coming!
Stay safe and well and don't eat too many chocolate eggs.
Hello children... We hope that you and your families are all safe and well. The adults are going to miss you at school and hearing all about your news. Hopefully we will see you again soon but in the mean time please ask your grown ups to keep checking our class page for some challenges and suggested activities you can do at home. You can show off your new skills and share what we have been learning with your family.
Please click on the picture or document to view the pages.
If you have any questions about the home learning tasks or would like to send us a picture of the work you have been doing, you can email us at email@example.com We would love to hear from you.
