Jesus Christ, Son of Mary, Son of God, is the centre of

the Rosary Community where we live, love and learn together

Curriculum Intent

Within the Early Years Foundation Stage at The Rosary, we intent to support and encourage all the children within our care to become independent and collaborative learners. All children begin their educational journey with different experiences to others in their learning and play. The Early Years curriculum is designed to offer a broad and balanced education, which meets the needs of all children with the forward-thinking vision where pupils live, love and learn together. The curriculum will enable them to gain skills, knowledge and understanding, supporting them to progress from their individual starting points. Our ethos in Early Years is to support children's personal, social and emotional development enabling them to feel safe and secure and ready to learn, supporting them to build resilience.

It is our role to help the children experience the awe and wonder of the world through the seven areas of learning.

The seven areas consist of Prime and Specific areas. The Prime areas are - Personal, Social and Emotional Development, Communication & Language and Physical Development.

The Specific areas are Literacy, Mathematics, Understanding the World and Expressive Arts and Design.
